 Note from Me:

I understand that many do not want to participate in this lake clean up because of the restrictions Osceola County has placed on East Lake.

For many years all of the airboat clubs and organizations have held Lake clean ups (at our own expense). KRVSA for example have held lake clean ups for the past 20 years.  Even though we are not the ones who dump old tires or televisions in the lakes.  It is because we want to keep our waters clean for future generations so we go out and clean up the garbage dumped by those who complain about the noise of our boats.

There are many people working to get is ordinance changed and I believe the ordinance will be repealed.  Four (4) of the six (6) County Commissioners who passed this ordinance have not been replaced, that alone says a lot!

But while we wait for the restrictions to be changed, our lakes are still being used as a dumping ground for those who do not care.  It is my hope that the Airboating community will come together, do the right thing and help clean up!  So when our rights are restored we will have a beautiful lake to return to.

So with that said, please anyone who can come out Saturday and help.  If you don’t have a boat running, I am sure someone will give you a ride.

Thank you,

Cindi Babb

This boat was found on Saturday in Fells Cove, it had to be brought to the surface and towed back to Chisholm Park.  The person who brought it up says sometimes he finds up to three boats abandoned.

I love to see the Wildlife on the Lakes and Rivers, they will not survive if we don’t keep it clean.

Thanks to Earl, Dave Johnson & Wayne Partin for their cleanup efforts at the Shed.  I bet Wayne would tell you about his near miss with a water moccasin when he was out the week before, if you ask.  It proves my point to never travel alone, always take a buddy when you go out!
